I live in each moment.
The past? My opponent.
The future? My rival who's yet to arrive.
My matter is here now.
To me, it is clear how
Denying remembrance keeps brio alive.
Aloofness destroying
That which is annoying
Or tragic to manage the truth in my mind.
I'm sorry for any
Whose problems are many
And held to be felt in a memory bind.
I like to think of the past that way; an opponent that holds me back when I need to prepare for the future, the rival who's yet to arrive.
