Bragging About Routine

I will modify nothing,
Your wishes are moot.
When allowed to pick something,
I pick a dispute.

Acquiescence can damage
Volition, become
Like an orderly savage,
Thrash apt into bum.

The adoption of others'
Commandment will fill
The allotment of druthers
A man can fulfill.

I have petrified feeling
In permanent glee,
And that stone is repealing
What you've set to be.

When I hold the schematic
You want to employ,
My technique is thematic;
You draw, I destroy.

  1. Yes, this one is much appreciated at this time in my life/day. I get all of it, but insist officer is just a desire to find the truth. Your verse is its usual airtight jewel, and I love the way the second to last line slows it down.

  4. You draw, I destroy. An interesting Ars Poetica from you...the first stanza made me smile in its sound.

  5. Petrified feeling in permanent glee... what an imagination! Jack, I'm really on board with your writing, will click anytime I see your name on a prompt. Also, "You draw, I destroy." Draw a picture, draw a gun, either way, it's the same. Raw stuff, emotional. Amy
